Fly Tyer’s Hotpoint Cautery

Description A very useful tool, this HOT POINT CAUTERISER generates a lot of heat! This is NOT a disposable tool – the battery can be replaced when necessary. This Hot Point cautery takes one AA battery – simply press the button on the side of the tool and the element will glow red hot – excellent for zapping stray hackle fibres getting in the way of the eye of the hook, cleaning up deer hair stubs, heat kinking spanflex legs on patterns, etc, etc. For a little more control over the heat, I suggest you use an almost exhausted battery – and the trick is to hold the element close to the item you wish to singe off rather than pushing the element into the material.
